Raymond Henry aka Coach Redd

FOUNDER & CEO | MIGHTY KINGS

BIO: Raymond Henry aka Coach Redd aka Rev. Redd was born in Kingston, Jamaica and came to the United States at the age of 8 years old. He attended St Anthony Catholic School where he learned and played basketball for the first time in his life. He became the leading scorer, over 30 points per game, and led his team to the District and City Championship. He attended Bishop Lynch High School for the next 4 years. Led BL to their first freshman district championship with a 26-3 record. The next 3 years started on varsity, won Soph of the year, and was awarded, all state, all 3 years. He also led BL its first-ever state championship in 1980. He was inducted into Bishop Lynch Hall of fame for not only basketball but also for his accomplishments in track & field. Due to a major knee condition, he couldn’t continue his playing career at UNT. But played in the NBA pro-am league in the early 80’s, Po Bill’s all-star, and k-104 all-stars. His coaching career spanned over 35 years and in Sept of 2009 he founded Mighty Kings Basketball AAU Organization. He has coached Mighty Kings to 3 National Championships an 4 runner-up positions on the AAU circuit. Coaching is his life and his dream. A survivor of prostate cancer, and he won’t allow that to stop him from coaching young Kings.

Coach Damien Peters

PRESIDENT OF BASKETBALL OPERATIONS

BIO: Born in a small Island in the Caribbean, Coach Damien Peters has always had a big passion for the game of basketball. Through hard work he has made every team he’s tried out for, from Middle school where he helped lead his team to a District Championship and was named Athlete of the Year and MVP all the way up to Junior College, where he was sidelined from the collegiate game due to life. Damien ended up getting into coaching in 2009 where he coached on the Select Level for the first 7yrs and for the past 7yrs coaching AAU at an Elite level. He has had the pleasure of working with a few organizations during his tenor, but his message has always been the same. “In every aspect of your life, no one should out work you.” When it comes to passion, you will find that Coach D’s is second to none. He looks at himself as a mentor to the youth and teaches life lessons through the game of basketball. Coach D has always been a big believer that applying yourself as much mentally as you do physically, you will reach an Elite level that is unmatched. GO KINGS
